Re: Looking at the draft.
Baker is your classic West Coast Offense QB. Quick release. Athleticism. Quick decision maker. Accurate. Not the biggest arm...but enough. Although OU's system doesn't have a lot on NFL concepts Baker is uber productive and efficient within the offense. He executes the gameplan the coach calls at a high level.
The fit for/with Jay is because Baker plays with confidence, moxie and makes plays. Baker's playmaking is an aspect the offense has been missing. Quote:

No doubt that Allen plays in a more 'pro-style' offense and will be more 'pro-ready'. But, from the cut-ups I've watched of Allen he's been scattershot and inconsistent with his accuracy. I think he should be more productive and efficient being the big man in his little conference. From a production standpoint he doesn't even match up to Brett Smith. And Allen plays with quite a bit of adlib himself...its actually one of the positives I like about Allen's game. He can move, and has a freakin hand cannon. But, he's raw. When I look at the college prospects I chart games. The surrounding talent or lack of talent doesn't really impact my grading. If you're doing some statistical regression/projection then his cast will matter. But, I'm not. And the supporting cast argument is another imho generic knock that gets tossed around that doesn't hold much weight. If you're the QB for a good program you're gonna play with talent. And not all QBs on good teams are even pro prospects. I think I even recall hearing the supporting cast knock against Watson. Weak arm? Definitely disagree there. ![]() Suspect long ball? Again completely disagree. Actually iirc he's near the top of PFF's charting when it comes to deep ball accuracy. Also I think Baker will be around towards the bottom of the 1st maybe even top of the 2nd. Being short and playing in the spread should be enough to keep him in that range. Quote:

Re: Looking at the draft.
Really interested to see if the Georgia RBs can have success against the Bama defense. Both these guys are 1-2nd round guys. I like Chubb.
That Alabama DT Da'ron Payne showed his ass against Clemson with some big plays. Eager to see how he plays tonight. ^SDskins, I think Roquan Smith is a lil over rated. I also think that DT from Washington that everyone loves is as well.

Yeah Baker has a good arm, I didn't get that either lol, I've seen every game he's played and he can throw the long ball

Re: Looking at the draft.
James Washington WR OSU would be a nice addition too but I'd rather have a RB

Re: Looking at the draft.
I think there are enough good backs this year to wait till 2nd or 3rd round. Give me Penny from SDSU. Dude is a stud and is barely talked about.

Re: Looking at the draft.
Quenton Nelson or Roquan Smith in the 1st and best available RB in the 2nd would be my idea of a beautiful start to the draft.

Re: Looking at the draft.
Perine is a solid bruiser that is a good number 2, we just need that factor back at 1, and we also have CT still as well so we are not that bad off

Chico's RB Statuses: Fat Rob is too slow, Keith Marshall peace out. CT you're awesome, get well. Perine keep working. Other fill ins down the stretch: thanks for contributing, but please leave.
