Re: Negativity

fourth quarter, tied at 13. We had a three and out with three consecutive passes. One of them was an overthrow to Jacobs.

I agree TAFKAS! I'm not sure if they don't rotate who calls the most plays (amongst games.) Sometimes I see Gibbs with the clipboard, obviously making the decisions, but other times I think he just radios the plays in from upstairs. Not sure if that is the best thing to do.

Portis did exactly what Gibbs has preached and teached from the mountain top not to do. Turnovers are the enemy of this team and the lack of turnovers is catching up with them. Now let's see how they adjust to this adversity.

Re: Negativity

I the 4th quarter, I saw MB throw a go route 4 times in a row with the same result. Incomplete! Bad play calling and just all around bad play by Mark today. Now that I have cooled down a little, I'm hoping to see a big change come Sunday against the Chargers. We are a better team then the record shows. Come on and pull this thing together.

Mark did not have a bad game today. Tayor Jacobs with all of the hype about his crisp routes and high-calliber speed looke like Coles and Gardner last year. He is not fast against the CB's defending him. At no time did I see him separate on these no-name CB's. Every deep pass intended for Jacobs was incomplete because of his failure to get open. With the game on the line, why didn't the play involve Santana Moss or Cooley? This points to the reason why we have loss the close games. No consistency.

Re: Negativity

0 for his first 8 in the 4th quarter isn't exactly a good game.

Why aren't the fumbles being mentioned on any of the threads other than myself? You've got to be kidding me if you think no completions in the first 8 characterized his overall play. No INTs and a fumble on the last play of the game when the O line performance has been deplorable is an insult to Brunell. Last week Brunell threw more TD's against the 1# defense and still loss. It's not Brunell's inconsistency, it's Portis's inability to hold on to the ball that's the blame.

Re: Negativity

I think were getting off track of the topic of this forum, the topic was about negativity, after a game like this with our record most of the posts are going to be negative, the key is not to overreact to somebodys post,i dont believe there are any fairweather fans on this site{unless its their 1st post),fairweather fans dont give a shit and wouldnt take the time to post on a site like this, most of us deeply care or we wouldnt be a member, some are just more neg or pos then others,if you dont like what somebody says, dont overreact and be an ass, just let it go and make your own point

Brunell completed 43% of his passes for 155 total yards and 0 touchdowns. He didn't have a horrible day, but it wasn't his best. The blame goes far beyond Brunell. Portis, Jacobs, the D-line, and others share in the blame.

While Portis' fumbles really hurt us, Brunell hasn't been the best with ball security. Brunell has been very good about throwing the ball away when there is no one open and not throwing a lot of picks. But, Brunell has fumbled 6 times. While pass protection is sometimes to blame for his failure to protect the ball, there's no excuse for fumbling six times. Brunell, Portis, Cooley, et al need to work on not coughing up the ball.
