A straight fly route against a player faster or just as fast is awfully tough to get open, you really can't pick up on that stuff on TV, but if that's the case perhaps Gibbs should add a little spice to the patterns as you said with slants, and come back routes, forcing the DB to stay close to the reciever, which would then give Jacobs a better chance of beating a DB deep. To many players last season from opposing defenses where saying how simple it was to figure out our passing game, it sounds a little like what Jacobs is getting at here. |

Re: Taylor Jacobs/Wash Times
Well, one thing that I think Taylor could have done to encourage Joe to call more plays that suited him would have been to break a tackle or something. If he can't get open on a fly route, then I can understand that, but when he did catch the ball he pretty much went straight down. How do you catch 3 balls and get only 17 yards? That means you're not getting yac. That really wouldn't inpsire me to call different plays to get that reciever open.
Also, how do you say, "what am I supposed to do?" What the hell does that mean? How about you try to play physical Taylor? Oh, I forgot, you'd probably get hurt. The Skins need to cut ties with this garbage, no heart punk. |
