Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
I'd really doubt we're moving Scherff.

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
Remember when everyone on here ( including me) was just killing Bruce for signing Flowers? He was arguably our best linemen and was pretty damn good at LG. This is a really good move if he can still retain that level of play we saw from him the one year he was here. Good move WFT!

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
18 million for Scherff
9M for Flowers 5M for Schweitzer plus a 3rd (martin) and 4th rounder (charles) ----------------------- vs a total of 14.5M for our tackles, 15M for our WRs .. positions much more impactful then guards ... I dont fucking get it and I dont view Flowers as an upgrade over Schweitzer .. and its a massive overpay .. wtf Flowers is a JAG, Schweitzer is slightly above a jag ----- Couldnt we have used that 9 MILLION DOLLAR CAP HIT this year on signing Scherff long term and reducing his cap hit this year or resign Allen? 9 million in a 187.5M cap year is huge ... for a average at best starter .. at a position we have already invested heavy resources in .. for a position that yo shoudnt be heavily investing in .. |

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
Seems a little odd to do this right before the draft, I assume none of his salary is guaranteed so they can just cut him if they wish, but I think this means more, Martin out maybe, is Charles now LT or has an issue wr don't know about? Something is up and I would not be so quick to dismiss a trade of Scherrf, however unlikely, weirder things have happened, maybe they have found the next Bill O'Brien, a FO Newby who doesn't have clue

you dont overpay for Guards in this league .. you draft them cheap Flowers brings nothing special. Hes not flight on his feet, he doesnt kick out into open space like Scherff does, he will get beat from time to time 1 on 1 ... |

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
Flowers is brought here to be the starting LG if it works out which I think I will and if we cut him only on the hook for 1 million of the 9 million good move with high upside and very little down side if it doesn't work out.

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/washingt...flowers-16733/ I think hes a Skin this year no matter what Assuming we dont trade Scherff or Wes .. how does RR look Wes in the eyes and tell them they basically just replaced him even though he did everything RR asked of him and played well? RR made comments on how it would be unfair to Reaves to bring in Reid and have Reid start over him when Reaves has been doing what the team has been asking of him. I have to assume Scherff or Wes is on the move. Scherff to the Chiefs |

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
PFF grades from 2020
Wes Schweitzer: overall 69.0, pass blocking 70.5, run blocking 65.7, 2 penalties, 5 sacks allowed. Ereck Flowers: overall 65.9, pass blocking 73.8, run blocking 58.1, 3 penalties, 5 sacks allowed. Not a huge difference here, should be a good competition if they go that route. If anything our depth just got better. |

Scherff never should have been franchise tagged a 2nd time, but can't let that dictate the rest of the roster construction when we know he's gone next year.

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread

I can’t imagine Schreff is traded...but since he doesn’t have a long term future with team, why not see if you could grab a first?
