You are saying Settle wanted to leave to start elsewhere and also Payne could be out so draft his replacement. We had his replacement.

Settle wanted to leave this year, to be a starter, Payne could be gone at the end of this upcoming season. You draft Mathis to fill he depth this year and potential starter in 2023, all at a rookie contract.

Again, I wanted to Nakobe Dean, I'm not saying this is the best pick, but I don't think it is the worst. I mean this is not Belichick picking a 3rd round guard at the bottom of the 1st round bad.
