Re: KC Joyner picks skins...
Who among us really thinks that Gibbs and Saunders have not given consideration to the possibility that Brunell may not start every game this year? Does anyone really believe they have NOT carefully planned fior that eventuality? These guys are MANIACS. They have TOTALLY mapped every scenario in which Brunell may be sidelined, and that of his replacement. Brunell goes down=dead in the water..........................Hardly

Re: KC Joyner picks skins...
Brunnell deserves more credit than he gets. When was the last time a QB in DC had the numbers he did last season? Watch the highlights. He's really accurate and can throw a 40-50 yd bomb to Moss twice within a few mins...
Go back and watch film from last season. Brunnell is not the problem.

If Brunell stays healthy and keeps up his production I'll be thrilled becuase we'll keep playing like we did last year. If Brunell goes down and Campbell comes in, I'll still be thrilled. Sure it will probably be rough at first with a rookie at the helm, but overall I'll be excited to see the "QB of the future" step up and start playing.

Re: KC Joyner picks skins...
The Skins might not be a sleeper to us, but I think to alot of people out there we're still flying low under the radar. The Giants and Cowboys both get more hype, which is fine with me.
I wonder if alot of people realize the Skins were 5-1 in the division last year. Just seems odd that so many are so quick to overlook the Skins. |

Re: KC Joyner picks skins...
I know it's early, and I know it's easy to feel hyped when nobody's playing - But DAMN, I am psyched for next year.
This is a team that, despite some turnover, is essentially the same group that started out three years ago. Springs, Portis, Washington, Griffin, Brunnell, the ENTIRE O-Line (yes Rabach was new last year, but other than that these guys have been together for a while!). This defense is going to be scary good next year - they will hurt people. Receivers will be hearing footsteps every time they cross the line of scrimmage. With Saunders running the offense, the new WR's aquired, and the support it gets from the defense, this year's offense could be VERY entertaining! I know people question Brunnell, but I think he clearly has something left in the tank AND, if Gibbs follows through on the "I am gonna protect him from injury more", he will (hopefully) be fine at the end of the year. Even if Brunnell goes down, I think the Skins have created a situation for Campbell to succeed - strong running game and O-Line, excellent defense. With Campbell running the show, things might not be AS explosive, but I am betting he will do at least as well as Big Ben or Palmer (after he sat out a year). BTW - I personally think that, other than the Saunders signing, the continuity on the O-Line is the next biggest factor in our likely success. Okay, I am over the joy juice now. 95 days and counting to monday night.
