Re: Chris Samuels is having his best year as a Pro
Samuals is solid...I think Buges has coached him up well since the Spurrier days when he occasionally got beaten....the fact is....Samuals has really picked it up when everyone else went down...that is a testament to his team first approach.
I like the other point here. We cannot underestimate the impact Kendall has had. DAMN, I don't see any dropoff from last year...is the left side actually better that last year with Doc?

Re: Chris Samuels is having his best year as a Pro
I think last Sunday proved that Rabach is more important than any other lineman. Once he left w/ a groin injury our no-ground-game-solid-protection line became a can't-do-a-fuckin-thing line. Samuels is good but remember he doesn't call out the defensive fronts, doesn't pin the middle of the field and can't really provide any assistance to the pathetic right side of the line. We need Rabach back to have any hope of running the ball, no matter against AZ or NE.

Re: Chris Samuels is having his best year as a Pro
Samuels, Kendall, Rabach and Fabini keeping us above water up to now. Kendall is a godsend. Samuels performing great and paid for it. Rabach going out in front of 50 tickets worth of family and friends in his Green Bay locale was serious. Hopefully he'll be back immediately, but I think he's looking at a week. Todd Wade got abused by Packer DE Kampman. And Wade outweighs him by 44 lbs. Hopefully Wade and Heyer will be back quick cause we need bodies to make this Superbowl run! GO REDSKINS!!! IN GIBBS WE TRUST!

I'm convinced that it's impossible to ever have a consensus opinion on someone. Hell, there are people out there that don't like The Beatles. At least it seems the majority of fans can appreciate Samuels and what he means to the team.

Still, it seems like a near consensus that regardless of what we thought of Samuels in the past, that he's having one of the better years a lineman has ever had here. Sometimes you have to wait 7-8 years for a 1st round pick to reach his peak level of performance and it looks like that's what we have in Samuels now. A LT worthy of the 2nd overall pick in his draft.

Re: Chris Samuels is having his best year as a Pro
Samuels is having another solid pro-bowl year, he gets paid very well for it too. That play where he hurdled the D guy on the ground to get to the next level and throw another block was sweet.
Good thread idea, gotta show some love for one of the Skins best players! |
