Question Re: Plackemeier waived

does this mean we are going after lechler or someone in free agency? i seriously dont think that the skins are content with atterberry as the punter.

No there not. I read Plackemeier beat him out last season to get the spot. It's suprising to see him here now.

Shane Lechler is a Pro-Bowl punter and will command some big bucks. We'll not be the only team looking to sign him, not to mention Oakland will want to retain him. He will be cheaper than other free agents like Haynesworth and Peppers. He'd be my priority FA pick up this season along with an OT. Unlike Haynesworth or Peppers I'm willing to go out on a limb and say he'd be worth the money.

Our staff like to take their time developing linemen and anyone we'd draft wouldn't be thrown in there until Jansen's and Heyer's backs break in week 12.

If we did sign Lechler he'd be able to start right away. Personally I miss Derrek Frost, just because he liked to hit people and did.

No they won't, especially after hit by a DL on his team.

Read this:

RAIDERS / Lechler's Oakland days appear over

I didn't know about that. With that said I think he'll prefer our locker room to Oakland's. Our guys are pretty tight for the most part. I hope they get him.

Al Davis is a ganster.

Jeez, talk about a franchise on a downward spiral!! One of my regular clients comes from a family of Raiders fans (although he switched allegiance to the Cowpukes go figure) and told me some crazy tales about Davis... supposedly one of his brothers or cousins, can't remember, approached the old goat for an autograph, of course saying he's a life-long fan yada-yada, when Davis tells him to f off and just turns away. Bizarre!

The guy is a old freakin senile nut case! I guess anything he would happen to do would be of no surprise. What a JOKE!

That franchise will never be anything again until that head case is outta the picture.

Re: Plackemeier waived

Here is the dilemma. Placky did an OK job putting the ball within the ten yard line. His placement was rather good. But, when the Skins had to kick deep, he simply has no distance.

I am starting to think the punting situation will never be resolved in DC, lol. And this I will give the FO credit for, they have tried. They took the numebr one punter in the nation, Ray Guy Award winner, and still nothing.

Just sign Shane Lechler or Hunter Smith and the problem is solved for the next 5 years or more.

Huh? You MUST be referring to someone other than Plackemeier....or Placky..?

The Plackemeier in DC you know the punter that just got fired....flat out SUCKED!

Thank the Lord for getting him outta here. Lets address the problem and fix it! As we all know its unfortunately a HUGE part of our game.
