Re: 2009 Free Agents
Boy, I sure hope one of those 7 defensive lineman can play wideout. LOL. On a serious note, getting a traffic violation(s) is not a big deal, however given Burress' troubles, I wonder how will this affect him (and whether this will tick off Goodell).

Re: 2009 Free Agents
I would be surprised if the iggles don't get in mix to acquire Boldin. They have I think 12 draft picks (or something crazy?) and a lot of cap space. And the need.
CARDINALS SHOPPING BOLDIN Posted by Mike Florio on March 12, 2009, 3:59 p.m. Kurt Warner might get to keep his $2 million, after all. A league source tells us that the Arizona Cardinals are shopping receiver Anquan Boldin to potential trade partners. Warner recently has suggested that he’d devote a portion of his salary to signing Boldin to a new contract. (We don’t think Warner really means it.) Boldin, a six-year veteran, is signed through 2010. He has wanted for roughly a year a significant increase from his current range of $2.5 million to $3 million. With teammate Larry Fitzgerald at $10 million per year, Boldin is believed to want at least $9 million annually. Boldin previously has requested a trade. At one point after the Super Bowl, Boldin said that he would not sign a new deal with the Cardinals, and that he wanted to be dealt to a new team. More recently, he had softened in his position, expressing a willingness to consider a new long-term contract to stay with the team.

Re: 2009 Free Agents
I am getting really pissed off that we have not addressed the lb situation. The Bills are meeting with Crowell and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are have started negotiations with Crowell.

CHIEFS “TERMINATE” DAVID MACKLIN Posted by Mike Florio on March 18, 2009, 4:36 p.m. The new Kansas City Chiefs don’t mess around. Two players have been arrested since Scott Pioli became the G.M. And both players have been cut. Or, in the case of cornerback David Macklin, terminated. The release from the team bears the headline, “Chiefs Terminate CB David Macklin.” The two-sentence statement reads as follows: “The Kansas City Chiefs terminated the contract of CB David Macklin on Wednesday. Macklin played in four games with the Chiefs in 2008.” Macklin was busted five days ago for DUI. Earlier in the offseason, tight end Michael Merritt was arrested for possession of marijuana. He was later released. It remains to be seen whether the new-look NFLPA fights the decision to “terminate” Macklin. Under the substance abuse policy, the league has exclusive jurisdiction to discipline players for criminal charges arising from alcohol use or abuse. Thus, the union could choose to argue that the Chiefs were not permitted to take action of any kind against him. Then again, the fact that the move came in the offseason greatly reduces Macklin’s potential losses. He played in only four games last season, and likely wasn’t a lock to make the 53-man roster.

Re: 2009 Free Agents
Yes good move by KC, not that they lost much but anyway. It's a privilege to play in the NFL, act accordingly!
I will look for the local newspaper/online article about the DUI on Macklin. He was pulled over in Newport News on J. Clyde Morris Blvd. (Right down the road from my home and where he grew up) at like 3:10am for excessive tinted windows on a BWM luxury car. Then of course he just happened to be legally drunk.

Re: 2009 Free Agents
I don't see the big deal here, it's David Macklin. I guarantee he wouldn't have cut Jared Allen when he got his 19 DUI's.

Re: 2009 Free Agents
No one's arguing that he wouldn't cut Allen, because he's a freakin Pro Prowler! The guy could knock a man out with a bat and he'd still be on the team. He's a great player MACKLIN ISN'T. My point is players that are bad football players like Macklin should not get DUI's, because they have a greater chance than (Allen) to get cut. Macklin shouldn't have put himself in that situation because he's almost assured to get cut.
