Re: My Draft Trade Proposal with New England. Feedback Needed!!!
I don't like it. This trade still leaves us with 2 picks in the top 3 rounds. If I trade down i want to add a 2nd or 3rd round pick depending on how far down we go.

Its better to have 2 picks in the first day, than to have a pick in the 1st and third like we have now.

Re: My Draft Trade Proposal with New England. Feedback Needed!!!
I love the idea. Some will say that drafting Maualuga at 13th overall is a reach but, for a team like NE where their OL is pretty much set, there is greater value drafting such a talented LB. Versus our roster on the other hand, we should look to secure a 'top 5' (not all of the top ranked OTs fit our scheme) OT early. With Andre Smith's stock declining we may have to gamble drafting him with our first pick. If he's gone, we would possibly look to take top 5 talent DE Robert Ayers. I don't think the team would consider drafting Michael Crabtree if he's available. Malcolm Kelly and Crabtree are essentially the same... size, slow, hands, and hurt. This draft is plenty deep with capable LBs. Overrated Clay Matthews would be a dream come true at 34th overall but, I'm trying to be realistic here but Clint Sintim or Matthews should be available at the top of round 2. It may be more important what we do with our 5th round pick as supposed to the aquired 6th rounder (199th overall). I say draft a CB. How about Jackson State's Domonique Johnson.
1st round Andre Smith 2nd round Clay Matthews or Clint Sintim 5th round Domonique Johnson -or- 1st round Robert Ayers 2nd round Jamon Meredith OT South Carolina 5th round Jason Williams Western Illinois Last edited by diehard; 04-07-2009 at 01:00 PM. |

The trade they made last year was ideal because they added a pick. If the skins drop 10 places to around 23 they should be able to net a 2nd round pick and still keep their 3rd rounder.

..... Past the second or third round all you have left is practice squad fodder.[/QUOTE]
Without going through and reading all the posts to see if anyone has responded to this post of your's, let me remind you of just last years draft... Copied from Wikepedia Horton was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the seventh round (249th overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft. He officially signed a three-year, $1.191 million contract with the team on June 12, 2008. The contract included a $36,000 signing bonus. Making his first NFL start for the Redskins in Week 2 against the Saints, Horton recovered a fumble and recorded two interceptions helping lead the team to a comeback victory. He was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts against the Saints. In the week 4 game against the Dallas Cowboys, he recorded his third interception of the season. On October 2, he was named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month. For week 4 he was named Diet Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week. As a rookie, he finished third among rookies in interceptions behind the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Aqib Talib and Arizona Cardinals Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. Following the 2008 season, he was awarded $342,197 in additional pay from the NFL's performance-based pay system, which gives financial compensation based on a comparison of playing time to salary; this made him the third biggest beneficiary in 2008.[2]

According the numerical value of the picks, its makes its extremely difficult to pull off this trade still keep our 3rd rounder. This is pick is based on positioning, and not on stocked picks. If it was based off stocking picks, then I would have come up with a scenario where we traded our first for multiple 3rd's or something like that. Right now, we have to get the most bang for our buck, and we can't do that with what we have. So, unless anyone has a better idea for a trade, then comments need to be more solution-oriented. I know the warpath is full of smart individuals. This is why I joined here, but its stifling to think that only a handful of you have actually READ the instructions and commented appropriately. It shouldn't be this difficult. Your comments are appreciated, but I am more interested in who you would take off of this proposal, or what kind of proposal would be better based off of the NFL draft pick value chart. I really am not interested in just your opinions on the proposal. If I was, I would have posted my proposal in a different thread (because I keep hearing from Mods about how people create too many of the same thread). There are other threads for what you would do with the 13th pick, but this thread is OBVIOUSLY different. I will ask the Warpath with all humility and reverence, if you can not read and follow the directions for answering on this thread, then please refrain from commenting on this thread! If this can not be done, the mods should lock this thread, lest it turn into copy cat thread about what we should do at 13.

* Philadelphia (picks 21 and 53 - 1170; pick 13 - 1150) * Minnesota (picks 22 and 54 - 1140; pick 13 - 1150) * New England (picks 23 and 47 - 1190; pick 13 and 5th - approx. 1185.5) or (picks 23, 58, and 4th - approx. 1134; pick 13 - 1150) * Atlanta (picks 24, 55, and 4th - approx. 1142; pick 13 - 1150) * Miami (picks 26 and 44 - 1160; pick 13 - 1150) * Detroit (picks 20, 65, and 5th; pick 13) I know this will seem a bit harsh, but in all honesty it seems to me that you are only looking for validation with this thread. If someone says, "I love your idea!" then they clearly "read the instructions" and understand clearly the value of your contribution. If someone does not agree with you or suggests the possibility is unlikely then they are not worthy of commenting on your thread and should find a different thread to comment on. Clearly you are very invested in this trade possibility, but I think you are being a bit closed minded here.

Re: My Draft Trade Proposal with New England. Feedback Needed!!!
Dont need validation from anyone here big man.
All I was saying was to follow the thread instructions and see what possibilities one could come up with, but the only thing that I got was comments on why it wouldn't work. Those would have been appropriate had the question been "Do you agree/like the proposal?" It was an easy question, and a few got what I was saying ad responded according. However, it seems like some felt like doing their own thing. Rather than just cooperating with the thread, it became a rant and rave session about how it wouldn't/couldn't work. Forgive me, but Ive lost my interest in talkin about draft stuff on here. Thanks to those who were good sports and participated. I appreciate your comments. Im not trying do a back and forth with anyone on here, so I will leave the commentary to those who remain. Peace.

Didn't read through the thread but I was thinking the exact same thing. How is fantasyland this time of year? Are the unicorns behaving?

Re: My Draft Trade Proposal with New England. Feedback Needed!!!
Here's a scenario what if we traded our 13th forthe eagles 2 first rounders, or their first first rounder and their first second rounder...(what ever one would be the more fair trade)
