To be honest, people say that every year (save 2004 and even then people had doubts about Rivers and Big Ben, Eli was the only "sure thing"), and it's more based on the idea that QB's are hard to develop rather then the actual quality of the class. We have a coach now that has a great track record in developing QB's. I say if he sees one he likes at the fourth spot we should take him....er support him for taking said player.

The quality of QB's in this particular draft class isn't like every other year. It is very below average.

Also Shanahan has a great track record developing QB's? Like John Elway and Steve Young? They were both fully developed Hall of Famers before he even started working with them.

Who did he develop? Maybe Jake Plummer. Kind of.

I hope we don't reach on a QB, but if we do pick a QB in the first round I will be hopeful that they really do see someone with that "it" factor which I have no doubt Shanahan should be able to recognize.
