granted, football is a team sport and there are a multitude of external factors that affect every player at every position, but belichick's offense makes QBs look good. He's a football genius. period. just because he had a defensive background before becoming a head coach, doesnt mean he's not a great offensive coach.
He made his name in this league by coaching the defenses of the Super Bowl winning Giants back in the 80's. It's not his offense per say, he has no direct input on the design or the play calls. The most involved he gets with the offense during the course of a game is deciding to go for it on 4th down. Thats it. Maybe he'll suggest to his OC that he would like to see more running or pass plays at certain points but not much else.

Basically Belicheck gets to pick an offensive coordinator. That is the extent of Bellichecks offense.

On top of that I can't think of a coach in the modern era that has coordinated both sides of the ball at the pro level. It's like getting an ENT to become a heart surgeon. Offense and Defensive coordinators are highly specialized positions. I mean it's hard enough for a player to switch sides of the ball let alone a coach.
