You'd know better than I would but neither do I. When you comment on his character and drive you have to speak positively. However, I would not be surprised if we were trying to boost his draft stock to convince a team to take him earlier so that we either 1) get our 2nd round guy that we want or 2) convince a team to wait till the 2nd round or later to pick up a guy to free an opportunity for ourselves

If we're okay with a questionable motion we've already got Colt!

I just hope that if he does take Tebow somewhere high (top 36 picks), that it's because he likes the odds, and not because he's not afraid to "roll the dice".

Re: Notes from Shanahan interview at owners' meeting

I think Shanahan genuinely admires the young man but that does not mean that Shanny would draft him. The fact that Shanahan is planning to go on a tour of the top 4-5 QB's in the draft, that he would take the valuable time to see them personally, tells me that he is going to draft a QB in the first or second round of the draft. It doesn't tell me who that QB might be.

I'm very interested to see which players Shanny goes to visit. Using the SWAG method, I'm guessing that he'll visit with Bradford, Clausen, and Colt McCoy. My darkhorse pick for a Shanny visit is Zac Robinson.

I agree with this. He may turn out to be awsome but even with all the media talking about him, people like Casserly are throwing out the warning that he will do fine up until teams decide to throw pressure at him cause all QB's have a tendency to revert back to their original form when under pressure and scrambling for their life vs. sitting in the pocket and making sure he's using the right technique. Their not saying anything bad about him just pointing out that with a QB like him other teams will bring pressure all day cause they know he won't have time to think about all the fine tuning and will simply start using his longer throwing motion which will give the DE's a chance at swating the ball loose.

To me, that just means that Tim Tebow may need a little more time to develop as an NFL QB. Many repetitions of doing things the "right" way until the new way feels natural to him.

The reason he might warrant a second round pick is his upside. Just look at what he accomplished against top competition. He is a fierce competitor and a winner. He finds ways to get the job done. For example, he is able to shake off tacklers in the pocket and then move around and find receivers downfield. He reminds me of of Big Ben in that respect.

We know that he won't be overmatched physically, he's coachable, he won't be outworked, and he's a leader. There are a lot of positives in Tebow to justify his selection in the second round of the draft.

Zing! This is my arguement. We have a late round draft pick in Colt with a questionable throwing motion. Although I do like him and feel he could be a Favre in waiting. I know, I know, others will laugh at me. Who cares.

Then we have a late 1st round draft pick in JC who had a big slow wind up. Coach's have tried to change his throwing motion and after 5 years he's improved marginally. He's not going to be a franchise I don't care how much time you give him.

We have an undrafted FA in Bartel that we will have to look at and decide if he's worth keeping or not, but Dallas picked him up in 07 and he's played in Cleveland and Jacksonville. We picked him up off of Jacksonvilles pratice squad.

Then there is SexyRexy who was drafted by Chicaaaaaa go in the 1st round 22nd over all in 03. So yet again we have a late 1st round drafted QB and you all seem to think he's crap and won't see the field and will make a decent back up. Some of you don't even think he will make a decent back up.

So looking at our stable of QB's how on earth can anyone sit back and say we should not go after an early 1st round talented QB? Our other QB's range across the board and they are not getting the job done or some of you don't think they ever will and yet we should scuttle picking up a franchise all together and either go OL for protection of mediocre talent or simply trade out for more picks essentially putting us in a position to either draft a late round QB yet again or OL and picking up a 2nd round QB or worse not drafting a QB at all.

All I can say is we keep drafting mediocre talent at QB and we are going to keep getting mediocre performance. Teams have a better chance of picking up later round OL talent then they do picking up later round QB's. and although someone will put up the stats again on how many late round QB's there are those are needles in the hay stack. Those teams got extremely lucky and they know it. They'll most likely tell you they didn't realize the talent they had when drafting those QB's. But, in any case we already have 1 undrafted QB and 1 late round QB if your into those types of QB's and 2 late first round drafted QB's in your into that and honestly it doesn't sound like anyone is very interested in any of them other then to have loyalty for the incumbent.

At least with Colt his release is quick, just a little sidearm. Tebow had a ridiculously long windup.
