Yeah, local anesthesia.
Honestly, it's easier and less painful than your wife getting "snipped" and you can be sure that if you're really finished making babies, you won't have an "I forgot to take my pill" moment. Much safer. Also, some women have bad reactions to and can't take BC. My wife did not do well on it. Small price to pay to keep your retirement funds intact.
