Those drops were on McNabb, both passes were really high.. I'm a huge 5 fan but that wasn't Davis fault

Do you understand that concept of uncertainty and why you look like a moron for assuming that simply picking an OL means he has a 100% of success? You have to consider whether the player you're drafting is a ****ing waste of a roster space and time because of the probability they'll flame out. And in hindsight, pretty much all of the OL past the first round were ****ing scrubs, Rhinehart being just one of many.

Did the fact that outside of the 1st round of the 2008 draft, practically all the OL selected were scrubs did not enter your brain?

Oh hell, I believe that we could have stayed in the 1st and drafted Baker, but I'll bet that 99% of the fans would have been screaming for Vinny's head because we "already had Jansen and Samuels".

Re: Why Did We Draft Fred Davis?

Thanks for calling me a moron.

I completely understand the concept of uncertainty. That is what my whole comment about ignoring those positions was about. They waited until they needed a home run and rather than spreading out the odds, put all of their eggs in one basket in 08 for WR, and if god forbid Williams doesn't pan out then that will be a costly mistake.

As far as the sins of our old regime, they are well documented. For your blood pressure's sake I will end there.

Going into the 2008 draft, even the casual fan knew the Skins needed to upgrade OL depth since Jansen and Randy Thomas were showing wear and tear, going down for the previous season in games 1 and 3, respectively. Staying in the 1st round and drafting OL would have been the wise choice. Vinny compounded that mistake of trading out of the 1st round by botching the additional 2nd round picks we received.

Yeah, Vinny just bungled it royally either way. We could have had Royal and Jackson. We got Thomas and Kelly.

We could have had Chris Johnson, Sam Baker, or Rashard Mendenhall had we stayed in the first round. We just simply missed out on playmakers. Yeah, CP was here, but we would have had no need to commit more picks to RBs in the next 5 years at the very least.
