I meant by Free Agency ad going nuts like we used too, McNabb was a trade that just didn't work but we didn't give him crazy $

But, but Bruce Allen has no say in who gets added to the team.

I love this trade (see tag line). No amount of contrarian shade throwing will kill my buzz! Sweet QB bliss!

yes, we overpaid, but either you think the trade will work out or you think it won't. all the yeah buts sounds like reserving future "i told you so" fence sitting.

I didn't like the QBs last year (draft/on the team), I though beck was a wasted pick, and i don't like barkley as much as rgiii or luck, so i'm fine with it. maybe it turns out to be a huge mistake, but i think the floor potential on this isn't that low and the ceiling is very very high.

we took a chance, and i'm hoping it works. and yes, i would have liked to pay less for rgiii, but if the choice is between the picks for him or taking the somewhat meh RT, i agree with our FO on this one.

Did I miss something? Beck was not a draft pick and I don't recall the team giving up a draft pick for him... did they? and you didn't like any of the QB's in the draft last yr? Newton? I'll be honest I didn't like him at the time but he supprised me. I like Dalton and he did better then I expected.

Why did the choice have to be between RGIII or a RT? I would have figured they would have taken the next best QB in the draft or WR.

Well, even then, it still requires Ryan Tannehill to be something short of a real NFL quarterback.

If Bradford is out of the league in three years and Griffin goes on to be Robert Griffin, then the Rams probably didn't get enough to justify their decision to not pick Griffin. But they couldn't have done any better in the trade market. And so yes, they still win.

I don't think we can just go out and set expectations for Griffin so high as to win games by himself with the roster as currently constructed. I think we have to be very accepting that if Griffin ends up being a periodicly exciting, often frustrating, quality NFL starter who does get a big money second contract from the Redskins, well, that's what the second overall pick is supposed to get you. Steve McNair and Kerry Collins weren't draft busts. They played in Super Bowls.

IMO, the expectations for Griffin will be tied to what the Redskins gave up for him, but the Redskins were likely just being shortsighted.

Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft

Let's be honest here, we (as Redskins fans) shouldn't care who is perceived as the winner of the trade if RGIII can come in here and lead our team to multiple playoff appearances. If the Rams go on and win a Superbowl in three years good for them, but it doesn't mean we would have similar success had we kept those draft picks, and it doesn't mean we made the wrong move. The only way this trade should be deemed a failure is if RGIII is a true bust and we continue to lose more games than we win.

I don't need to see his bust in Canton 30 years from now to deem this trade a success, what I need is a return to winning ways.

I already don't give a damn about who the "winner" is and don't care what we gave up. It's done, it's over, we got our QB and I haven't been this excited since I saw that woman fall at McDonalds. Time to move on to free agency. Lets go baby!!!!

2013 draft pick will be a good one for the rams probably. 2014 maybe not.

We have young talent and the drafts have been good. Allen and Shanny are finding talent in later rounds.

If we get another starter or 2 and a couple more backups in this years draft we could have the depth and offensive capabilities ready to heavily contribute to in the 2013 season Hankerson and another FA WR or draftee, Helu and Royster sharing carries, and Davis at te. If RG3 can be the spark, he could have a few weapons.

It looks like Shanny is building a finesse O.

This is an amazing feeling. The first game at FedEx will be crazy. I wish I could be there but I have a feeling the Skins are about to get more national exposure
