Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft

My question was more pertaining to the compensation in the trade than to the player. If Robert Griffin looked like Donovan McNabb for four years, I think he's pretty safely going to get that second contract.

But outside of "we'll take it", well, duh, we have no choice now. But would you have traded three firsts and a second to take a guy who ends up having Donovan McNabb's career, or would it have been better to keep the picks and see whats behind the mystery door that is the career of Ryan Tannehill, Nick Foles, Brock Osweiler, or Kirk Cousins?

The point is, none of those guys (maybe Foles or Cousins, but I digress) is "likely" to enjoy a career like Donovan McNabb's career. Griffin's got a decent chance. At least that's the expectation. But would you cash in a multi-time pro bowl career for the chance to draft a guy who could do just as well or better, and still have three first round picks (or two firsts and a second, if Tannehill)?
