It's a real problem for the Shanny believers. (I don't say apologists anymore because they don't like it.)

Going into the season the story was "Well we've spent plenty of treasure on defense through FA and some draft and lots on WR, now we have our QB and should see a nearly complete, competitive team."

Now the defense is garbage, so evidently all the FA signings were a waste. Some are now saying the WR corp wasn't ever supposed to be complete and we'll draft/sign more next year.

In politics, I believe it's called the bait and switch. It's the story of Shanny's career since John hung up his jersey.
