For Gods sake you're being paid pretty well to know football.
Greg Roman, he coached Luck at Stanford and would be a perfect fit for RGIII. Sick of all retread coaches, skins need to find the next Gibbs, when Gibbs was hired everyone asked who the hell is he? People are enamored with names, my gut feeling tells me Roman will be damn good coach.

College coaches aren't it. It's a different game. Harbaugh has done well because 1) His team was stacked with talent 2) He played in the NFL and knows the game.

I would go with a hungry assistant in the NFL looking to make a name for himself.

I was excited about you but NC could be our biggest signing yet. Lol.
All kidding aside-
I cannot worry about next year anymore - i wont. It is Tuesday and there is a game Sunday and everybody that coaches or plays for the Redskins is damn well aware of that. Im not expecting perfection from anybody Sunday but im expecting effort and discipline. Im expecting the defense to get after Nick Foles. This is a playoff game for us. I would like to think that a bunch of well paid grown men will put their differences aside and go out and win a football game. I think that will make the players - coaches - and fanbase happy for one friggin week.

Who the hell do you think the Offensive Co-ordination for the 49ers is? Greg Roman!

San Francisco 49ers: Greg Roman

Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?

In all honesty, I would be worried if the organization wasnt talking about a new DC.

Sorry, wasn't talking about him specifically. Just meant in general.

Read his bio if you have doubts. From what I have seen at Stanford and 49ers he is pretty creative.

Greg Roman was a finalist for the Stanford job and also drew attention for the open jobs at Vanderbilt, Tulane and Pitt. He's currently Harbaugh's offensive coordinator in San Francisco and spent time with him in Palo Alto, although most of his experience has come in the NFL.

Harbaugh has made it clear that Roman is the architect of the Stanford and 49ers offenses.

Im sure there are some capable college coaches. Alot of head coaches came up thru the college ranks whether as assisstants or head coaches. Again the fo should be able to do their job and find a good one. I have no problem with the assisstants already in the nfl. Perry fewel gets my vote btw.

I'm still for giving Mike next year at least. UNLESS, the team continues to play with lack of desire and this in house drama continues on. We'll see in the off-season.

Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?

well, this thread seems to have exploded. I'd like to clear some things up though.

NC is a great bootlicker. every time i get a new pair of boots, i always ask for him by name.

matty is the reason conspiracy theorists exist. roswell - matty, jfk - matty, the great defecator conspiracy of 2004... yep, matty. he's evil.

TAFKATAFKASS - just an all around jerk... and a liar. avoid him.

and once again the reason people are avoiding this thread (or have been) is because it's basically been a 3 way circle jerk about how awful shannahan is and anyone who doesn't want him fired or immediately joins in the bashing is an idiot and an a-hole. it's not like we're never seen a trolled thread before. if this were 3-4 years ago someone would spend the time sorting through every point, but it's just generally easier to ignore people and hope they go away.

and believe it or not, i wasn't super up on getting shanny in the first place, but what's the idea? i've heard del rio mentioned seriously by one of the main culprits here. and he thinks you're the idiot.

i don't know. it's not a great situation, but there's no way he's fired before the year's up and at that point, it depends on how the season plays out and who's available. if there aren't better options, you have to sit. we went through last year without a QB cause the only ones available were matt flynn and gabbert... if we had been as reactionary as some of you guys are suggesting, we'd be an 0-fer team still looking for a QB.

vinny's gone, the team is younger, the offense (when healthy) looks like it'll be pretty good. the defense is a mess and the depth still isn't good, but it is what it is. and I think everyone agrees we're not where we want to be, but we're also not jacksonville.

and punch, maybe you are making good points, maybe you aren't, but if you think people are going to read 1,900 posts to figure it out, well, no thanks. less volume, more content please.

Pretty impressive stats. Even moreso considering Alex Smith is his QB. This is the kind of guy I'm talking about!!! Like you said...no one knew who the hell Joe Gibbs was either and that turned out pretty well. Hire him and some young up and coming DC and we might have something for a long time. Skinsfaniok brought up Chip Kelly. I've heard good things about him also. Know much about him? Does he have any pro experience?
