As ive said before they might have been little white lies just so that he was "one of the guys". He might have had no intention to ever marry her or meet her? Might have been beefing up a simple on line love affair into something greater and really thought she died. Not sure why that is so crazy. Im sure alot of teenagers- 20 year olds lie about getting laid or having girlfriends to fit in. When ur the stud player on the nd football team and the big man on campus i would imagine it would be more pressure to have your friends think as much.
